CLEVELAND, Ohio — The owners of Quay 55, a lakefront apartment complex, have called for the removal of developer John Carney from the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority’s governing board, citing conflicts of interest.
They contend that a proposed move of port operations to a manmade peninsula off East 55th Street, approved in 2007 when Carney was board chairman, will improve views for tenants in Carney’s downtown apartments and ruin views for Quay 55 residents.
In a letter to Mayor Frank Jackson and copied to Cuyahoga County commissioners, they also argue that the planned redevelopment of the port’s downtown property also will benefit nearby buildings held by Carney… (go to article)
