RTA will likely raise fares about 25 cents per ride and eliminate its lightly used but very popular community circulators.

RTA intends to take the actions to counteract a $5.5 million deficit expected at the end of this year because of a steep decline in sales taxes that will result in $18.5 million less than expected.

The 12 circulators, which drive around communities, were scheduled to be eliminated last year to offset rising fuel prices and a projected $20 million deficit this year. RTA also planned to eliminate and reduce some bus routes and raise fares up to 50 cents… (go to article)
